  My spouse and I stayed at Newlands for three nights. The B&B is set back off a country lane in a quiet agricultural area 15 minutes south of Kilkenny. Our room was generously sized with a comfortable bed and good amenities. Breakfasts were cooked to order and while not large, were delicious. The B&B serves as a great place for visiting Kilkenny or the surrounding area.
  
  Still, just as a location, I would give this four stars, but it gets five stars because of the service. Our host Nicola was quick to answer any questions I emailed her before we arrived. During our stay, she gave us a number of great recommendations on places to eat and other services we needed. What perhaps stands out most, however, was after our first morning, we mentioned that our bathtub was just a bit slick when the water was running; she immediately went out and purchased a bath mat. Someone more cynical might have chalked that up to concerns over liability, but to us, it seemed to come from a genuine desire to make sure our stay was excellent. That kind of service is hard to beat, and is the main reason we would happily stay here again.
